So the other night I went to see ‘Looper’ starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the legendary Bruce Willis and British actress, Emily Blunt. Having seen the trailer, I was intrigued to see this movie and it was entirely worth it.
At first, I wasn’t sure Levitt was actually him, he looked so different from Dark Knight Rises and Inception. Later, from devouring Imdb.com, I discovered that he wore prosthetics to look more like Bruce Willis’ character. Bruce Willis as always, was excellent, (Is it wrong to say I may slightly fancy him?), playing the action-hero down to a tee.
Without wanting to spoil the film too much, all I can say is that it combines The Matrix, Inception and a touch of Fight Club to create a future urban utopia of a hidden world of crime.
I cannot fault this film at all, from the casting to the special effects to the cinematography, it was truly amazing. It portrayed a realistic view of the future from the evolution of technology to the way the government had changed. It brought about questions of human nature and how our actions affect others, from the past, present, and future.
