Often, it is when you are traveling around that you make the best memories, which is why when it comes to traveling it is so important to understand what the best ways are to see and experience the best sights and attractions that your destination of choice has to offer you.

Bearing that in mind, the question is what are some of the best ways to see the sights when you are abroad? Of course, it is important to bear in mind that each country has different forms of transport, depending on the terrain on offer. However, the guide below can give you a better insight into how you can make the most of your time abroad and make getting from A to B that little bit more enjoyable and more exciting. Travel by foot

If you are in good physical fitness and love to walk, then traveling by foot while you are abroad could be the answer. Because walking allows you to take things in at your own pace, walking tours have become increasingly popular in many cities that get a lot of tourists visiting them each year. Of course, not all cities are easily walkable, but there are plenty that are. Love the concept of traveling around via foot? Then visiting somewhere like Florence, where the city is restricted to just allowing taxis and buses through, could be ideal. New York is known as the ‘most walkable’ city in America, because it’s streets are so easy to navigate due to the numbering system used. Marrakech is another city that’s best seen via foot thanks to its labyrinth of alleyways and souks.

Cycle

Do you love to cycle? If you are a keen cycler and are in good physical shape, cycling could be a great way to get around when you are on vacation. However, there are some cities that are ideal for exploring via bike; these include Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Bourdoux, Antwerp, and Seville. These are just a few of the world’s most bikeable cities. What makes these places so bike-friendly? It is down to their layout, the fact that these countries make cyclist safety a priority, and also because bikes are readily available to hire. As well as having companies on offer for bike hire, many capital cities in the world, including London, have bikes for hire that are managed by local authorities, such as Boris Bikes in London. Some cities not only have regular bikes, but they also offer a range of unique ones to choose from. From tandem bikes for two people to bike carriages that carry four or more people, there are often various options on offer. For instance, in many hot countries like Spain’s Balearic Islands, bike carriages are a popular method of getting around and are available for hire in most destinations.

That’s why taking the bus could be a much better option – if you want to see the sights and learn more about the country that you are visiting, taking a bus tour could be the ideal way to do that. To make the bus tour that you take even more enjoyable, consider opting for an open top bus tour, and find an option that allows you to hop on and hop off to explore.
