I was asked to try a few of the JD sauces which I have tried in the past but haven’t for a while. If you know me personally, I am a condiment freak and I honestly think I enjoy them more than my meal, so being given the opportunity to try something I use on a daily basis is life goals tbh.
It is an original recipe, made with authentic Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey liqueur. The ingredients are listed below and nutritional information can be found here:
Sugar, Water, Soy Sauce (Contains Water, Soyabean, Salt, Wheatflour, Sugar, Colour: Caramel,Preservative: Potassium Sorbate), Concentrated Pineapple Juice, Dextrose, Cider Vinegar, Molasses, Concentrated Orange Juice, Modified Cornflour, Jack Daniel’s® Whiskey(1%), Colour: Ammonia Caramel, Garlic Purée, Onion Purée, Whiskey Flavour, Concentrated Onions, Stabiliser: Xanthan Gum, Smoke Flavour, Chilli Powder.
Contains: Soya, Wheat, Gluten.
Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
Whilst it only contains 1% of JD Whiskey, you won’t be getting drunk of this anytime soon BUT it will leave you intoxicated with taste. It can be used on meat, fish or vegetables, so you really do get your money’s worth with this sauce.
You don’t even need to use it as a glaze, it can be used exactly as it was meant to be… a sauce. Perfect for wings, wedges, or as a coating to some delicious creamy mashed potato.
Whilst I’m not a dab hand in the kitchen, my mother is, so she kindly shared her cooking instructions…
She coated some chicken breast and thighs with half a bottle of the sauce and left overnight to marinate.
The next day she popped them on the George Foreman Grill for 25 minutes and served with mushrooms, tomatoes, new potatoes, and salad.
I can vouch for her and say this would such a lovely twist on our usual Sunday roast. The flavour really soaked into the chicken and it was the perfect blend of savoury and sweet and neither was overpowering. It was quick and easy to cook, so what more could you want?
The next day, I took some leftovers for lunch and it tasted just as good, if not better. You can find more recipe inspiration here.
In the run up to BBQ season, these are an affordable addition to any condiment tray. I cannot wait to try the Tennessee Honey Barbecue Glaze, how amazing would that be on some ribs? *drools*

What’s your flavour?

Haha, such an original idea for a post! I love how you may love the condiments even more than your meal 🙂 Personally not super into condiments, but a -big- fan of Heinz ketchup!
