I was recently asked to test a liquid lipstick from a new range from reality TV star Chloe Ferry. If you’re not familiar with her, I’d recommend watching one of my guilty pleasures, Geordie Shore, one of the UK’s finest exports.
The range is aptly named ‘By Chloe Ferry’ and having launched six months ago, it contains 12 gorgeous shades of liquid lipsticks. There is a good range of nude, berry and bright shades all priced at £14.99. This places the brand in the mid-range which is pretty fair in comparison to higher end brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills and Mac.
Liquid lipsticks are what I reach for on those days when I want long lasting colour and something matte to pull together my look. I was sent the shade ‘Passion’ to try which is described as ‘perfect for those who love a subtle, neutral tone. The packing is lovely, has a luxe appeal and is clearly labelled; same goes for the bottle and the dopher applicator.
I swatched ‘Passion’ on my hand (that sounds so wrong), and it looked more coral than neutral. I did wonder how this would work on my skin tone (NC45 for reference), so I decided to top it off with a clear gloss. I loved the vanilla scent, which wasn’t too overpowering and when applied it was pretty pigmented. The formula is slightly more watery than I’m used to BUT I reckon after a couple of weeks when it has become a little tacky, it’ll be just fine.
I lined my lips with a brown lip liner (Max Factor Brown & Bold) and finished off the look with Maybelline’s Shine Shot lipgloss. Whilst ‘Passion’ didn’t entirely work on my skin tone, I made it work for me, which just goes to show a little know-how goes a long way.
You can find out more about the range here.

Didn’t even know Chloe had her own make-up line! So many celebs and reality stars are doing that now!
Us girls with darker complexions always have to make it work with the help of brown liner! I love that coral shade though!
Would you buy any more of her products?

Hey Kara – thanks for commenting you doll!
It’s kinda sad we have to do so many manipulations just to pull off a nude lip product, especially when it comes off after eating! I would buy more of her products as the formulation was good! xxx
