Musings: Why You Should Live Your Best Life, Always.

One of the ‘trends’ or phrases of the past year or so has been about ‘living your best life’. Whilst it may be subjective to what living your best life actually is , I am all here for it. The best description I have come across is from Urban Dictionary which describes living your best life as:

“Life is short. Do what you need to do to live it to the fullest, however odd.”

I asked my Twitter family what it meant to them and here are a few of their answers…

Judge me, I would:

You do what you want when you poppin’
‘Living my best life’ to me personally ties in with self-care. Its doing the things that make me happy and put me in a state of  zen. You know that feeling of euphoria where you feel like you have no cares in the world, that’s what living my best life is to me. It also means accepting my flaws, realising my strengths and using them to my full potential (when I can). If I’m not good at something e.g singing, I can still do it, enjoy it but it doesn’t mean I have to excel at it because we’re never gonna be good at everything.

Self Care

Part of living your best life ties in with self-care. The actions you take for yourself  to maintain your mental, physical and emotional health and well being can really make the world of difference.

I’ve written about my favourite self-care tips here and here.

Whatever ‘living your best life’ may mean to you. Do yourself proud, make yourself happy and indulge. Sometimes you have to be selfish in order to reach your own path of happiness.

We live in a world constantly telling us we should look or be a certain way and with a New Year in tow, the pressure comes around once again. So whether living your best life in 2018 means learning a new skill, taking more time for you, travelling more, just go for it. Life is short, money comes and goes, if you don’t try or put yourself out there… you will never know.

What does living your best life mean to you?

  1. Hello. I read your post and I like it. I agree, living your life should start with self-care. I mean, if you can’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of anything else? Though you go through your struggles and you have other issues you have to deal with, that should never hold you back to living your life to the fullest. Great post

  2. Yassss!!! Sometime you have to be selfish. We get so caught up in everything else that we forget about ourselves. I plan to be intentional about self care and self love in the new year.

  5. Great post dear, for me personally, living my best life means to be happy in everything that I do, whether that’s travelling more, wearing an amazing outfit, or collaborating on a post. As long as I’m 100% happy with something, I’m living the good life.

  6. Hey Girl

Living your best life is certainly grown from self-care, If you’re not happy within yourself everything literally seems and feels shit, I’ve been in the lowest of places and felt this 100%. I am in such a good place and I’m finally living my best life in every possible way, inside and out.

This is a lovely post, Thank you for sharing it! Going to read your self care tips post now too

    Much love, Becky – x x x
