I was lucky enough to win some products from Cos Box from their advent calendar competition on Instagram over the festive season. It was really fun to participate and made me realise just how much I love make up and skincare. If you’ve never heard of Cos Box, here’s a little introduction…
Cos Box provides women of diverse skin tones, with the opportunity to explore an array of beauty products on a bi-monthly basis.
Our subscription boxes contain a minimum of four carefully selected full-sized products, for you to try. With these precious gems, we provide the ultimate experience to suit your beauty needs.
And with a beautiful Instagram feed showcasing all kinds of melanin, you’d be a fool not to follow.
Right, now let’s get on to the lovely goodies I was sent…
It’s almost as if most if these products were meant for me as I have a few in my collection already so it’s always good to receive a top-up. On another note, I’m on a make up ban this year, so I’m glad that I have some new products to try without committing to the cost….
Nars Orgasm Blush
When I first tried the infamous Nars Orgasm a few years ago I wasn’t impressed if I’m honest, now it’s what a reach for to pull together a neutral look. It’s crazy how going back to a product can really change your mind which is why its always important to try things a few times before dismissing them. Orgasm is the perfect rose gold blush and honestly looks amazing on ALL skin tones. You can read my post here about spilling the tea on diversity in beauty though…
Too Faced Better Than Sex
Is this mascara better than sex? Really depends on your standards but it is one of the best mascaras I’ve tried. The wand is the perfect size, it really lifts and adds volume to even the most stubborn lashes.
The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and Sleek Highlighting Palette in ‘Precious Metals’
I discovered the holy grail Smashbox primer at an event last summer and honestly its one of the best primers I’ve used. It really makes your make up look HD, photographs beautifully and a little goes a long way. It’s around the ยฃ28 mark, so not the cheapest primer in the make up realm but I think it’s worth every penny. Although when it comes to primers, I would always ask for a sample to test over a week or so before committing the cost.
The Sleek highlighting palette looks perfect for my skin tone and I can’t wait to use it over summer on my collar bones (if they decide to make an appearance).
The V Lace Cosmetics Maya Eyeshadow Palette and Liquid Lipstick in Ms. Lauryn
The best part about make up is discovering new brands. Sometimes the brands we’re bombarded with get a little boring, feel like they’re all doing the same thing and sometimes you need to support smaller ones. The V Lace Maya Eyeshadow palette is everything you could want in a palette and more with the perfect balance of bolds, neutrals, shimmers and mattes. I am yet to play around with it because it’s so pretty but as the weather warms up I will be dipping my brush in slowly but surely. The Ms. Lauryn liquid lipstick is the perfect burgundy for WoC and the quality is comparable to ABH and Mac; best of all, it’s half the price at ยฃ10.99. You can shop their products here.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Liquid Glow, Natralus Australia Nourishing Paw Paw Lip Butter and the Glam Glow Hydrating Treatment
Out of these products I’m most excited to try the Glam Glow Hydrating treatment; after a flight, no matter how short, my skin always feels terrible, so I will definitely be trying this mid-flight. You can read about all my travels here though…
You can find Cos Box over on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Thanks so much guys and I cannot wait for the launch. Be sure to give them a follow!
What products are you excited to try in 2018?

Listen. I have to stop myself from purchasing this as it is so damn good. Lemme not add to the beauty addiction. Please do swatches and looks.
