Musings: Early Morning Sambazon Smoothies – A Review

Sometimes you have to wake up early and just be that person who makes a smoothie to start their day right. I never thought I’d be that person as I tend to spend the first few hours of the day bleary eyed and scrolling through Instagram.

This day, however, I bolted out of bed and decided ‘I’m going to change my life today’. You have to start small right? Generally I have a cup of tea or coffee in the morning and I don’t know if it makes me less tired or I think it makes me less tired?
Here comes Sambazon, which, like me you have not heard of before, makes and sells açaí-based food and beverages. The Acai berry, is what nutritionists keep calling a ‘superfood’ and has been praised for its healthy benefits. Full of antioxidants, fibre and heart-healthy fats, its easy to understand and taste why.
“Sambazon is a tribe of conscious individuals looking to make the world a better place. We create nutritious and delicious products, harvested responsibly, and stewarded sustainably so that we can uphold our promise to the Brazilian Amazon, to the planet, and to you.”

Purple Immunity Smoothie

Here is a visual representation of how I got on making the smoothie and you can view the recipe here.

1 Sambazon Original Superfruit Packs

1 c Orange Juice

½ Banana, frozen

¼ c Pineapple Chunks, frozen

½ tsp Ginger, ground

Top with Fresh Berries

Put everything in the blender (make sure to break up your Superfruit Packs), blend until really thick – adding more liquid if necessary – then pour into a bowl, top with your favourite fresh berries and enjoy!

It tasted so good, not too sweet, and I felt like I had an instant boost of energy  afterwards. Generally from drinking caffeinated drinks I feel more tired after. I can definitely see myself making more of these before work and going to the gym.
